ALL JUNIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL SPELLING BEE COMPETITION IN AKURE

It was an exciting event as spellers from seven different schools competed for the championship crown at Adegbemile Cultural Centre, Akure on 15th November,2017.



The all junior secondary school spelling bee competition populary called AJUSSCOM is an arm of Discovery for Impact In't of whom Adesanlu Emmanuel is the president.


 The competition kicked off with the Round One where contestants were made to spell words such as ''sarchet, hierarchy,etc. At the end of the third round, there was a tie between TELNET INTERNATIONAL SCHOOOL,AKURE and SEABA MODEL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE,AKURE. The contestants were then called on to spell more words.

At the end of the competition;
TELNET INTERNATIONAL SCHOOOL,AKURE  came first
 SEABA MODEL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE,AKURE came second
ST LOUIS GRAMMAR SCHOOL came third






Spelling is important because it aids in reading. It helps cement the connection that is shared between sounds and letters. Learning high frequency sight words also has been shown to help with both reading and writing.
