Osi is a fast growing community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State. It is about five kilometres to Akure, the state capital.
there is a particular stream in the community called ” Ominrisa” from the word ” omin- orisa” meaning Deity’s water.
The water performs miracles and wonders.
While in the community on investigation, and to authenticate the level of miracle done by this water, people were seen in their large numbers with different containers in a gentle manner trying to get the water.
At the river side, some people who spoke with our correspondent affirmed the good works of the water that heals all manner of sicknesses
Many who did not want their names mentioned to the public, said the water has saved many lives around them.
The traditional ruler of the town, Oba Adebike Olajide Okunato, the iresi of Osi, who spoke extensively with our correspondent, said that, the water cures all forms of diseases ranging from spiritual attack, barrenness, wounds even an overdue pregnancy.
Oba Olajide said that the community met the water when migrated to the area over 600 years ago from Ise- Ekiti in Ekiti State.
The traditional ruler further reiterated that, non indigene can as well approach the stream. He said, all they need do is to bath with the water and the sick person gets cured within a twinkle of an eye. It works wonder, he said.
Meanwhile, while asking if the community has a taboo, Oba Olajide said, nobody must go to the river with evil mind against his/her fellow being hence, it will backfire. Also, that a nursing mother and a woman having her monthly flow should stay clear.
According to him, he said “Omirisa”has brought development to the town with his exposure as a cyber and web engineer. Many developmental projects are on in the town like an FM radio Station, a comprehensive health Centre, already built Divisional Police Station, Magistrate Court and host of others.
